Mobile App News: Our Most Ambitious Update Ever Is Finally Here

As the Loop charging network continues to grow, our talented team at Loop has been working hard to improve your EV charging experience.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve fully upgraded our mobile app with new features and a refined user experience. Each aspect of the new app was specifically integrated to create a faster and easier charging experience. From “two-touch” charger activation to a stunning and fully responsive map, this update makes charging your electric car easier than ever.

As one of the fastest-growing charging networks in America, we take our responsibility to our drivers seriously. That’s why we’re always working hard to improve and optimize the entire charging process.

Here’s What’s Included In The Latest App Update

Responsive Charging Station Map

Whether searching for the closest charger in your area or planning a cross-country road trip, our new map can help you quickly and easily locate every charger in our nationwide network. Users will also be able to search in any given area, see available chargers in a user-friendly carousel, and highlight your favorite stations on the map.

While using the map or search feature, users will now have the ability to filter and sort by a variety of different parameters. (Like charger type and availability.)

Time and Distance to Arrival

We know it can be stressful driving on a low battery. That’s why we’ve added “distance” and “time to arrival” in the search section. This key feature can help you plan your charging strategy, especially in unfamiliar areas.

Users will be able to see exactly how far each charger is and how long it will take to reach it. We hope this can help drivers who are still dealing with “range anxiety” while our national charging infrastructure and EV battery technologies improve.

Favorite Stations

At home, at work, or on the go, drivers can now customize their own Loop Charging Network with our new “Favorites” section.

No searching or QR codes required. Simply add your most frequently visited stations to your “Favorites” list for faster activation and more convenient charging.

Refined User Experience

Along with the addition of new features, we’ve also polished and improved the core experience of the Loop app. Notifications, in-app dialogs, reported issues and more have all been addressed and fixed to maintain Loop’s status as the premier charging network.

iOS

Sign-up and sign-in screens were reworked.
You may now sign-in with your apple ID, Google credentials, mobile phone or email.
The map in the “Search” section was integrated. Searching for the nearest charging station is easier, faster, and more user-friendly.
You can now see all charging station sites in the carousel.
Use the ‘Search in this area’ feature to find charging stations in specific areas.
We’ve added distance and time until arrival into the search section
We’ve added filters on the map. You’ll be able to filter chargers by a variety of different parameters (access, charger type, and availability).
You can now assign your favorite sites and highlight them on the map.
The “Favorites” section was added to make searching faster and easier.
We’ve added auto-completion of fields in the ‘Report an issue’ section for your convenience
Suspended events were added. You can now see when your charging session has suspended.
Transaction history was updated.
UI details and dialogs have been polished and improved.
Notifications have been completely reworked.

Errors, reported issues and bugs were fixed. With the latest version of Loop’s app, you can charge your vehicle faster and smoother than ever before.

Android

Offline mode was added. Progress indication and error handling were reworked. You’ll now be able to use some select features of the app without an internet connection. We got rid of the fullscreen blocking HUD.
The map in the Search section was integrated. Searching for the nearest charging station is easier, faster, and more user-friendly
